Takoyaki Zenyatta — Overwatch 2

This is one of my all-time favorite designs I've had the pleasure to create. All the bold patterns and eclectic combination of textures allowed me to push the graphic nature while balancing the traditional feel of the materials. The wood grains were fun, additional geta sandal details, and getting the proper metal feels of the cooker satisfied just as much as building the food. This was my first independent weapon make, the others were physically part of the character body to various degrees. Can't think of a tastier treat. ;}

I had so much fun with all the patterning and textures on this one. The slides and braids are all functional, and that's real wood laminate, you know.

His uniform graphics were so cool, I loved all the bright colors and bold designs.

Just can't help sneaking details where I can... the traditional geta sandals were originally plain in the concept, but I got to add proper knots and hardware for when the bottoms are visible.

One of my favorite aspects of this Zenyatta design was I could make the delicious food. The inside is stuffed with tentacles, btw, but no worries—they're cybernetic. No actual squid harmed. ;}
