Formalwear Baptiste — Overwatch 2

Created for the Winter Fair of '23, this design combined a careful balance between deck-the-halls details and the demure of snowdrifts. Well, if snowdrifts had pinstripes. I enjoyed creating Baptiste's Formalwear design, particularly modeling out decoration for more depth alongside the richness of a golden patina. Funny side effect of it all, between that swimsuit cowboy, Mr. Battlearm and now this backpackin' gizmo geek, I'm REALLY starting to love making eyeglasses. ;}

I'm so pleased to note that I was able to design the glasses for Baptiste's ensemble, including develop a lovely tortoiseshell material. Faux, of course.

Getting chunky boots to also feel elegant and wintery like battle bling was a fun challenge. My favorite parts were adding all the decoration depth to be just so.

Fun fact: though the coat's golden design was an efficient normal map bake on a flat surface, I greatly disliked the results a regular embossing produced. So I hard surface modeled out all decorations to retain a rich and festive holiday glimmer.
